Our program allows you the flexibility to work with your local printer and send us collated printed pages or transfer your digital file to Integrity Printing's graphics department for a quick turn proof to review before printing and binding.

It's easy to work with Shortrunbooks!

Begin by contacting Shortrunbooks for guidance on page set up, margins, paper stock, etc. We will advise the best option for paper weight, cover style, graphics, and discuss production timeline. Complete book printing and binding production usually can be done within a month after proof approval.

If working with your local printer, we will advise paper stock and margin guidelines. Make sure the printed pages are collated into the order you want to have the pages bound with a colored paper separator inserted between each set of book pages. Package your printing tightly and double box to prevent damage during shipment. We need 3-4 extra copies of your collated book pages for setting up your cover to correctly fit the spine. Books will ship 20 working days after approval of cover printing.

Shortrunbooks specializes in the hardcover binding of 8-1/2" x 11" papers from 1/4" up to 3/4" spine thickness (we can also accommodate 9-1/2" x 6" and 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" books). Pages are bound on the long side. Depending on paper stock 50 sheets of paper (100 pages) will have a cover spine width of approximately 1/4" and 100 sheets approximately 1/2" spine width.

Foil Stamped Covers & Binding

Metallic gold or silver foil stamping projects an image of quality and results in an impressive book cover. Stamping imprints are best designed as black graphics and text with no shading. Spine copy may not be possible on narrow book spines. Your graphics file can be emailed to our ftp side or sent free via WeTransfer.com. Shortrunbooks will provide a PDF or paper proof of the cover art for your approval before beginning production.

Hardbound covers are constructed of durable leather grained book cover material. The cover surface is water resistant and can be easily cleaned. You have a choice of 6 base colors: black, maroon, royal blue, red, hunter green and white. Pajco 10pt. cover material is glued over 100pt. binders board. Printed pages are side stitched and glued into the hardcover with white endsheets and liner paper.

Screen Printed Covers & Binding

Screen printed covers offer a multitude of color design options. Create a graphics design in 1, 2, or 3 colors using our standard ink colors or provide us a PMS ink color for a close match to your existing printed materials. Screen printing allows for solid areas and a limited amount of dot patterns and shading. Contact us for advice on creating art files for single or multiple color graphics files, which can be emailed to our ftp site or sent free via WeTransfer.com. Shortrunbooks will provide a PDF or paper proof of the cover art for your approval before beginning production.

Film Laminated 4-Color Digitally Printed Covers & Binding

Gloss film is laminated to full color printed 100# text weight paper, which is then glued over 100pt. binders board. Printed pages are side stitched and glued into the hardcover with white endsheets and liner paper. Integrity Printing will provide a cover design layout with dimensions based on your book size and thickness. Your high resolution graphics file can be emailed to our ftp site or sent free via WeTransfer.com. Shortrunbooks will provide a PDF or color paper proof of the cover art for your approval before beginning production. If you will be matching process colors to a previously printed book or collateral materials, please provide a sample.
